Full Time Junior Farm Hand Role with Fairview Food
Fairview Food is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Junior Farm Hand to join our broadacre cropping and livestock business in the Central Wheatbelt, between our Narembeen and Kondinnin farms (10,000ha 2026). This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in agriculture while working within a progressive, sustainability-focused farming operation.

The role:
As a Junior Farm Hand, you will gain hands-on experience across all areas of broadacre farming and sheep operations. Working alongside an experienced team, you will be involved in:

Seasonal cropping operations including seeding, spraying, harvest, and grain handling

Basic machinery operation, maintenance, and daily checks
-
Livestock husbandry including feeding, handling, lambing, and general animal care
-
Fencing, water system checks, and general farm maintenance
-
Record-keeping, safety procedures, and assisting senior staff as required
No prior farm experience is necessary; we value a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and a positive attitude. Training and mentoring will be provided, with opportunities to develop machinery skills, livestock knowledge, and long-term farming competencies. Formalised training also on offer if applicant is interested.

At Fairview Food we are a strong, talented and flexible team who work together to manage 9200ha of crop and livestock production.
We seek our next Operations Manager who will work with both the cropping and livestock areas of our business. This person will need to be passionate about sustainable agriculture, have keen attention to detail and work with the team to successfully deliver our business goals.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in crop seeding, harvesting, spreading, soil amelioration and spraying activities
- Livestock handling and care, including feeding and animal health checks
- Performing routine maintenance on farming equipment and assets
- Keeping the farmyard, sheds, machinery and workspaces clean and organised
- Adhering to farm safety and operational procedures

Key Skills:
- Experience in cropping and livestock production ​(minimum 2 years)
- A passion for sustainable grain and livestock production
- Experience in fencing and maintenance
- Willingness to engage with farm management technology
- Ability to work in a team environment and independently
- A keen interest in learning new skills and self development
- A current drivers license (MC License is a bonus, or will be part of the training offered)
